You Said, We Did: Residents Have Their Say on Neighbourhood Activities

With Covid restrictions beginning to lift and our Neighbourhood Engagement Team getting ready to get back out into our neighbourhoods, we wanted to find out what events our residents would like us to provide.

In the latest Jigsaw Rewards survey, created by the Jigsaw Foundation team, we did just that and asked what type of activities people would like to see in their communities that would encourage them to get involved.

Top of the list out of 100 responses from our residents were:

  • seasonal events (48 people)
  • environmental activities (44 )
  • arts and craft sessions (34)
  • coffee mornings (30)
  • information sessions (25).

Cook and Eat sessions were also popular, as were lunch clubs. Some residents suggested exercise clubs on fields and asked for more activities for children as well as something that would help the area look more attractive.

When asked whether they would like to get involved, 49 people said they would and 37 said they would be interested with more information.

Neighbourhood engagement team officer Carolyn Alston said: “With the information received, the Neighbourhood Engagement team will be able to deliver what the residents want to see and engage in. I am very much looking forward to getting back out there and building their confidence and reducing social anxieties.”
