£1.5million of Vital Energy Upgrades For Greater Manchester Homes

Jigsaw Homes Group is working with energy supply and solutions provider E.ON to deliver £1.5m worth of upgrades to homes across Greater Manchester to improve their energy performance.

Around 280 homes in Manchester, Trafford, Wigan and Oldham have been selected to have the survey, which is being carried out by E.ON, to check what sort of improvements can be made to the homes.

The work, which will take place mostly outside properties, includes an energy performance assessment, 3D property scan, a retrofit assessment and an external drone survey.

Once each property is checked, both inside and out, residents will be contacted to let them know what improvements are suggested to make their home more energy efficient and warmer. Any work will take place before March 2023.

This is part of Jigsaw’s continued aim to make our residents’ homes more energy efficient and help them save money on their fuel bills. £4.4m has been set aside across the Group to do this, including £1.7m from the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund, matched with Jigsaw’s own funds to deliver the vital upgrades.

The areas where the improvements will take place include Newton Heath, Miles Platting, Crumpsall, Moston, Chorlton, Beswick, Gorton, Levenshulme, Stretford, Leigh and Atherton.

Andy Marshall, Group Director of Asset Management at Jigsaw Homes Group said: “We are committed to cutting carbon emissions as part of our bid to reach net zero carbon by 2050 and reaching the goal of having all our properties to minimum EPC level C by 2030. We are continuing to put this into action though our partnership with E.ON.”

“Our ongoing programme to upgrade our homes will ensure our properties become more energy efficient; helping to keep our residents safe and warm and potentially benefitting from cheaper energy bills too.”

Residents whose homes have been selected have been sent a letter to book a survey. If you have received a letter and not yet made your appointment, please do so directly with E.ON on 0330 4001067.

Please state “book a survey” when asked how they can help, then press Option 1
