Taking training to our communities

The Neighbourhood Engagement team have recently completed accredited and non-accredited training with 22 residents in our communities. They offer training within community settings to enable residents to learn together in venues close to where they live, work and volunteer.

This has included:

Accredited Food Hygiene Level 2
This accredited course was delivered at two venues. One took place at Sure Start Children’s Centre in Clayton with eight residents who volunteer in the local area. The other was at Tameside Women and their Families Centre, also with eight residents who volunteer at the centre.

This course covers the latest food hygiene standards. It is required for anyone who handles food as part of a volunteering or paid work role.

Customer Service and Team Work
Six volunteers completed the bespoke course designed by the Neighbourhood Engagement team at Anson Road Community Grocers in Longsight. This followed a consultation with the organisation about what they highlighted was needed to deliver an enhanced and improved customer experience.

The course involved creating their own ‘Community Grocers Charter’, outlining what their customers can expect from their service and what they expect from the customers who use the grocers every week to buy affordable food.

The Neighbourhood Engagement team will be offering further FREE accredited training within our communities throughout 2020. You can view the dates of these courses below.
