Winter Games Fun Day
Christmas is always a time for families but should also be a time for communities. That’s why Adactus teamed up with local organisations Family Action and Zest to bring residents a Winter Fun day to remember.
Several local groups (including two youth groups; AMP and YPAC , Apostles coffee morning group, Sawley Road Community Group and St. Georges) got together with a community artist in the preceding weeks to design and build their own Christmas Fayre Games.
All the groups then showcased their games at the event at the Sure Start building on Holland Street, Miles Platting. The games included Santa Can Can, Hook a Bauble, Magnetic Mince Pie, and a Santa Drive.
Over 130 people turned up to the event to enjoy the games and to sample some of the other delights including Christmas cocktails, jewellery making, gift box making and wrapping paper making. All children also received an extra special treat when Mrs Claus turned up with presents for all and the chance to have your picture taken with her.
Many festive characters also turned up in fancy dress and 2 year old Mikey Costello won the fancy dress prize of a singing reindeer for his Santa / Spiderman costume.
