Unity Radio workshops for young people

Tuesday 25th March was the first open session for young people at Victoria Mill Hut.

Unity Radio ran DJ and MC workshops with young people from 6pm until 9pm at the centre which were a huge hit with those that came down. The were also floodlights on the court until 9pm and football coaches to set up matches with young people.

The programme is set to run until May and we hope to engage with more young people in the Miles Platting. The sessions are a response to residents, including Queens Parade Residents Association, informing us of the need for youth activities. This is just the beginning of Adactus’s youth involvement in supporting and promoting activities for young people.

In the near future we hope to ask you how we can improve youth activities and facilities in the local area including re-vamping Victoria Mill community hut and speaking to young people about what they would like to see in Miles Platting.
