Sawley Road Residents Association Awarded a Green Grant

The green grants was an environmental scheme run by Adactus Housing Association to promote pride in the environment. Grants of up to £1000 were available for projects that improved the local environment and Sawley Road Residents Association were one of 11 groups that applied for the 5 available grants.

Their success means that they now have the funds to be able to create Kirkhaven Square Community Garden. An underused and mistreated piece of land is set to be given new life with new shrubs, plants and trees to attract wildlife and become a place that residents can enjoy.

The group will be supported all the way by Adactus Housing and if you have an idea of how to improve your local area please contact Iain Illstone on 0800 2346826.
