Respect Action Neighbourhoods
Adactus Housing took part in Respect Action Neighbourhoods during November. Respect Action Neighbourhood’s is a Greater Manchester Police led initiative which aims to reduce crime and fear of crime in your community.
In addition to high visibility patrols, joint enforcement and crime surgeries Adactus Housing helped to organise diversionary activities, social events and tenancy warnings to help reduce crime and fear of crime.
At Butler Court, the location of several burglaries earlier this year, we organised a safety social for residents over 50. As well as a buffet and a presentation from Greater Manchester Police this was resident’s opportunities to quiz police over any issues in their area.
On Saturday 14th November, in partnership with Discus, Adactus Housing organised a youth event at Victoria Mill Hut. The hut is open every Friday with Manchester Youth Service but as a one off was opened on Saturday for young people to take part in pool, table tennis, and music. The Unity Radio bus was also on hand to give young people the opportunity to try out their Dj-ing and MC-ing skills or just chill out in a laid back environment…Watch out for similar events in the new year.
We regularly work in partnership with Greater Manchester Police and Neighbourhood Wardens to ensure that Miles Platting is a safe and pleasant place to live and during November we undertook seven joint anti social behaviour interviews. You can report anti social behaviour to your Housing Officer on 0800 2346826 or report crime to the police on 0161 8725050.
