Miles Platting Fun Day This Saturday!!
The fun day, which takes places from 12 noon until 4pm has been organised by Adactus Housing Association a member of the Renaissance Consortium with local partners Zest and Sure Start and is a culmination of an Easter programme of events for all those living in the area – from young people and families to older residents.
The Spring Festival Fun Day will have the theme ‘cleaner and greener’, promoting energy efficiency and recycling. There will be ‘junk’ workshops with recycled materials, light bulb giveaways and recycling promotion.
Some of the activities done by local groups with Adactus Housing throughout Easter will be showcased at the event including artwork and music produced by young people with Unity radio, recycled jewellery with local youth group YPAC and recipe ideas and cooking lessons from the local cooking club.
There will also be a bouncy castle, dance workshops, nail art, kite making, arts and crafts and a five-a-side tournament for 11-16 year olds. Adactus will also be carrying out a recycling survey and a slogan competition for residents.
