Local Families Brush up on Their Language Skills.

Adactus Housing Association assisted Ensemble, the French Supplementary School in Collyhurst, organise the open day with funding from Manchester City Council.
French lesson demonstrations took place alongside English lessons for local French speakers. There was also African drumming and food demonstrations, as well as arts and crafts stalls and a bouncy castle to keep the youngsters entertained.
Ensemble is run solely by volunteers, French tuition is provided by qualified teachers, to children aged 3-5 and 6-11, every Saturday at St Georges Community Centre in Collyhurst between 10am and 2pm.
Melanie Ngangen, lead volunteer with Ensemble, said; “The aim of the event was to raise awareness of Ensemble and the language support we provide for the local community. The turn out was fantastic and everybody who attended had a great time. Hopefully we can stage more open days in the future.”
