Home Front Project gives local people skills

Over the course of the five week course they have learned decoration skills such as painting, wallpapering and estimating quantities and costs as well as basic joinery skills such as putting up shelves and curtain rails and basic plumbing.

Nicky Garbutt, Project Manager said ‘This has been a fantastic project. When residents started they had very little knowledge about DIY or about the repairs that were their responsibilities as tenants. Now they have the skills and confidence necessary to perform minor repairs and make improvement to their homes.’
