Garden Road Show
Residents of Miles Platting and Ancoats joined forces with Adactus to carry out a Garden Road Show. Teams of residents helped with litter picking and planting on four sites across the estate.
Many residents signed up to garden pledges agreeing to spend extra time looking after their gardens this year. The garden pledge re-enforced the tenancy agreement where residents commit to keep their garden clean and tidy. In addition residents also agreed to keep one or more additional pledges including growing fruit or vegetables, creating herb gardens or growing plants and flowers from seeds. In return Adactus Housing Association pledged to support residents who wished to improve open spaces.
The neighbourhood wardens were also on hand to sign people up to their free tool hire scheme.
If you are inspired to get out in your garden why not join the Miles Platting Garden Club – Wednesday evenings at 5:30pm held at the Church of Apostles on Ridgway Street. If you would like more information contact Iain Illstone – Neighbourhood Development Officer, Miles Platting on 0800 234 6826.
