Foods of Miles Platting

October 10th saw residents in Miles Platting take part in Manchester Food and Drink Festival. Adactus, together with Sure Start and Zest, organised the event with a world food theme, and staff and residents put on a whole host of tasty treats. Visitors to Miles Platting library had the chance to try foods from Asia, the Mediterranean and Africa.

Fun was had by over 70 people that attended including many children who flocked down after school to try the dips, sushi and fruit kebabs. The event was also an opportunity to meet with residents from ethnic minority groups who came along after the English classes (ESOL) at Victoria Mill.

During the week residents also took part in 'Let's do Lunch' where older residents had the chance to pass on their cooking skills to young mum's and children at the Surestart Centre.
