Christmas Parade.
On Tuesday 8th December there will be a Christmas Parade in Miles Platting and Ancoats.
The event which aims to raise money for local schools whilst fostering Christmas Spirit is being run by Adactus Housing Association along with assistance from other agencies. One of the Adactus vans usually used for repairs is to be decorated by local school children and will be transformed into a winter wonderland for one night only.
The float will leave the Varley Street Housing Office at 5pm and will take in Varley Street, Ridgway Street, Butler Street and Winstanley Road. It will be followed by a small procession of Adactus staff – see if you can recognise any of them! Father Christmas will be on board handing out sweets and chocolates in the street and delivering presents to families most in need. Older residents in Butler Court will also be visited by the float delivering good will and carol singers.
The parade will end at Miles Platting Library at 6:30pm where everybody is welcome to greet the parade back and visit Santa’s Grotto. There will be mince pies and mulled wine and local carol singers. We look forward to seeing you there.
