Anti Social Behaviour Stopped.
At midday on the 16th of September 2009 Alan Pickering found out why he should have abided by his tenancy and realised the consequences of his actions.
A “gang”, as neighbours referred to them, had used Alan’s flat to party through the night shouting and play loud music. Despite numerous warnings Alan continued to allow this behaviour, some friends even becoming threatening to his neighbours. In order to protect the neighbours and maintain the peace that residents are entitled to Adactus had no choice but to pursue an injunction to prevent Alan and friends causing a nuisance or making or carrying out threats.
The injunction was duly granted but was ignored by Alan and his friends, the noise problem, cars and visitors still causing a nuisance 24 hours a day. For breaking his injunction Adactus Housing were able to apply to court to end the tenancy on 16th September.
Whilst Adactus and the residents acknowledge that eviction is not always the answer in this case there was no alternative and Adactus are happy that the neighbours can now get a good night’s sleep. Adactus would like to thank the witnesses for keeping excellent records of the nuisance which were later used in court.
If you are suffering anti social behaviour from any of your neighbours please contact your Housing Officer who can provide support, assistance and if necessary take legal action to remedy the problem.
